The Essence and Importance of Fishing. The activity or the action of catching or seizing the fish is logically called or coined as fishing. Though this sounds too elementary, fishing is considered to be on of the best sources of food for humans. The trapping, the angling, the netting, the spearing and the hand gathering are some of the forms or methods of techniques in fishing. On the other hand, the term or the act fishing itself is not limited in catching fishes exclusively. Catching or seizing echinoderms, crustaceans, cephalopods and mollusks are also included in this act called fishing. Since this is one of the ancient ways of having or maintaining food in the table, it is understandable that there are more or less forty million fishermen and farmers around the world.
Fishing and Its Equipment. In fishing, having the biggest catch is one of the best moments. However, this feat is only feasible if and only if the individual has the right gear. The fish is essential; nonetheless, the weight and the sizes of fishing lines or rods are actually more important. For this reason, potential fishers or fishermen should consider checking on the fishing line diameter chart or graph for proper maintenance and care of their fishing rods or lines. In checking on fishing lines, there are some things to consider. One of the fishing rod elements or parts that should be assessed is the taper. These tapers are present in all modern fishing rods. The casting is made easier by this fishing line part. The double taper lines are used in some measurements of fishing rods. Other than the taper, the line weight should also be given some considerations by probable fishermen as well.
Heres a real life example for you. I was fishing with a friend last year and when he cast his line out, the line was coiled. It was coiled because it had been on the reel for so long. I made him change his line as soon as he could and this obviously alleviated the problem. If your line is coiled, like a slinky, for Gods sake, change it! Its been too long. As far as paying attention goes, keeping an eye out for coiling is a big one. Another is keeping your eye out for frays in the line or brittleness. If you see either of these factors, its time for a change.
I personally use four pound test for 85-90% of my fishing. If my line is old or frayed in any way, it will cost me fish. The line is too light to be old in any way. Believe me; if I hook into a four pound rainbow trout with four pound test thats more than a month old, the fish will break my line, its as simple as that. When the proper pound test is being used, it must be changed a lot, mainly because of fraying and stretching. When fishing line gets used, it becomes less strong as time goes on.
