Braided fishing lines are popular with fishermen because they are thinner and more durable than traditional mono lines. They are used in many specialty situations where a stronger, more visible or even less visible line option is needed. They are commonly used on both baitcasting and spinning reels. Below are five of the top braided fishing lines that are available on the market today. Power Pro Microfilament Line - Power Pro is widely considered to be the most popular brand of braided line available. They have several different options in terms of line material, thickness and strength. This brand of line is specifically designed to not have many of the common problems that some braided lines come with. They are tangle resistant, gentle on line guides and reels and can be used for both spinning and baitcasting applications. Power Pro line does not stretch. This makes it perfect for situations where fishermen need to feel even the slightest pull. There are many different test and length options available.
Fishing lines are by far the most important thing that plays the most important role between the angler and the fish. Although the hooks, rods and reels are also equally important, but it the fishing line that keep all of them together. But the angler need to be a bit judicious while choosing the right fishing line as it can sometimes be difficult, depending on the situation. Anglers who dont take it in to consideration may fail to get their best when they will head out for their fishing journey. There are three basic types of fishing lines:
Super Lines For Super Salmon. Super lines and specialty lines are made up of different materials and combination of materials than standard lines. Super lines are designed for strength, and are made through braiding the strands of material or through thermal fusion. They are popular for their amazing strength, knot tying strength and lack of stretch (about 5% opposed to monofilament which is about 20%). Super lines are most effective when landing huge chinook, and trolling because of their diameter. The diameter (or thickness) of the line is a fraction of a mono-filament line which allows for a quick, deep descent when trolling. Super lines do not always make the best leader material however, as they are not made of any type of "clear" smooth material. Another point to note is because of the "texture" of the line and lack of smoothness, it can fray and snap if the eyelets of your rod have any type of bur in them, so keep your eyelets filed if you have burs and find a rod that has good guides or eyelets to avoid this problem.
Up until recently, mono fishing line was by far the most commonly seen fishing line regardless of whether you were fishing off a boat, in freshwater or fishing off the beach. Today however, braid has become equally as popular, and for good reason. Braid is much thinner than normal mono line, and as a result you can get heavier line without risking the fish being able to see it. It also comes in any color you like, so you can make it blend in with the water color. Braid can be annoying though. Because it is so thin, you can cut yourself easily and there are a number of new knots that you need to learn to be able to keep your rigs on! Due to the tiny thickness of braid, most of the standard mono line knots come undone. There are a number of newer knots that have been created which work fine, but braid is in general harder to use.
